On December 21, during a telephone conversation, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on his convincing victory in the presidential elections.
It was noted that the high turnout and the election results demonstrate the broad support of the friendly Egyptian people for the policies and reform course of the incumbent Head of State.
The issues of further strengthening of Uzbek-Egyptian relations of comprehensive partnership and expansion of multifaceted cooperation were discussed.
Special emphasis was placed on the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the summit visit to Cairo in February this year.
The ongoing active contacts and exchanges were noted with satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade is growing. Cooperation projects have been launched in agriculture, geology, water supply, transport, logistics, chemical industry and other priority sectors.
The next meeting of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission and Business Council has been agreed upon.
The sides also exchanged views on topical issues on the international agenda.
