The Malaysian government actively supports Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization.

The leaders agreed to declare 2025-2026 a period of innovative development of Uzbek-Malaysian partnership.

Priority areas of the new model of economic cooperation have been identified: petrochemicals and chemistry, electronics and semiconductor industry, innovative industry, “smart” agriculture, “green” energy, pilgrimage tourism and others.

In order to support cooperation projects, a special economic zone is being established in Tashkent region under the management of a leading Malaysian company.

The leaders advocated for further active cultural and humanitarian exchange. Mutual cultural weeks will be held in Uzbekistan and Malaysia this year.

The leaders also exchanged views on pressing issues of regional interaction. They emphasized the importance of joining efforts in combating terrorism, radicalism and islamophobia.
