INTERNATIONAL OBSERVERS ARE LEARNING ABOUT THE ACTIVITIES OF DIRECT ELECTION COMMISSIONS

Long-term observers from the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) of the Observation Mission for the Presidential Election of the Republic of Uzbekistan Raushan Bolotalieva and Thomas Holzer were got acquainted with the work of the 4th Jizzakh District Election Commission.

The chairman of the district election commission Shavkat Sharipov informed the guests about the process of the election campaign for the election of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the responsibilities of the district election commission and the work being done.

International observers were interested in such issues as the composition and activities of district election commissions, campaigning activities of candidates, creating equal conditions for them in accordance with the law, as well as the information system in managing the electoral process, about the Unified Electronic Voter List.

International observers noted the thorough preparation of the district for the elections, that all processes are taking place in accordance with the requirements of the law.

In addition, Alessandro Bartolini and Lela Taliuri, international observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, took part in the press conference held by the 7 Samarkand District Election Commission.

Also, long-term observers from the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Daniela Bottijelli and Minder Martin visited the 11th Fergana District Election Commission, and observers of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Wojciech Ponikevski and Yevgeny Loginov got acquainted with the activities of 12 – Khorezm district election commission, press center and conditions created for media representatives.
