President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the new overpass connecting two sections of Babur Avenue in Andijan.
The overpass directly connects two parts of the city, helps ease traffic congestion and eliminates the need for detours. The project, with a total value of 271 billion soums, was implemented on the instructions of the Head of State during his previous trip to Andijan region.
The overpass is 796 meters long and 25.9 meters wide. Its elevated section extends for 596 meters, while the remaining 200 meters comprises a road section with retaining walls.
The new overpass has significantly improved convenience for residents. Some 140,000 residents of Andijan and Altynkul district no longer need to travel an additional 5.3 kilometers.
In addition, the route for special service vehicles has been shortened from 15 to 9.3 kilometers. By eliminating detours and waiting times at the railway crossing, the overpass reduces travel time by 17 minutes.
This is particularly important for emergency medical care. Patients can now reach the emergency medical center 14 minutes faster.
